    Maybe a wire came loose.
Does it work when the chip is turned off (power up the PS2 with eject and hold eject for about 3 to 5 seconds)

from letting it rest without power for couple of hours i get into the browser but it won't recognize anything (memory cards, discs) then if i disable the chip i get the same black screen.

did you do the install yourself, or did you get someone to do it for you.

if you did the second option, give it back to him and let him look.

yeah i gave it to someone else to install it for me, i could do it myself but just don't want to take all the hassle and buy all the extra stuff which cost me the same for someone putting it for me, i took it to the installer today and lets see what he says, he'll have it ready in couple of days so... I wonder wether my V9 has the Sharp DVD reader the serial is PX******
