    I need help.
    A have a few PS2 cant load and showing GOLD DISC.

    Pls somebody out there if u know how to repair / solve this problem, reply pls.

    Are they chipped? What happens when you press X with the gold disk selected?

    I already modified them and even now when I took out the modchip, still cant load and screen only show gold disc.
    When I press X it went blank then turn back to gold disc again.

    Pls anyone out there ???

    i'm having the same problem after trying to mod a v9 with a matrix infinity.
    removed chip and same thing. cleaned various points i touched with a braid and can't find any splashes. same result.

    bods V9 - check the fuses, there should be no resistance across them. All fuses are labelled on the mobo with labels like ps1 or ps14... usually an arrow pointing at 'em

    The gold disk is usual problem in v9-v10.
    Make this .
    Try to take +Vcc from PS14.
    Use fat wires for +Vcc and GND.
    Use fat wire for Y.
    And Try to make short and DON crossing the bios and cd/dvd controler wires.

    I am having the same problem with a v10 install showing the gold disk for PS2 originals/backups. I dont understand what you are suggesting to do Thanks for your help.

    Seems there are a few of us with this gold disc problem, still until now there is no solution. Can anyone out there pls help.
