dead ps2! eject reset ribbon at fault?
dead ps2! eject reset ribbon at fault? –

I have no power at all!. psu and psu fuse are ok. I read that reset/eject cable is a strong possib. for no power.? Tested for continuity with multimtr and 2 out of seven pins read just 1.
Cable is also badly bent in almost 13 places, i fear maybe ripped inside..?
I have NOT moded my ps2. What's the problem with my ps2 not powering up? is it the eject/reset cable the culprit? Have i tested the cable correctly, if not how do i do this with my mutimtr?
Have already ordered new psu and mainboard fuse ps1 from Richspsx parts but I don't think this is the problem!. Also how exactly do i test the 12v to the mbo using my multimeter, to check the mbo isn't fried as well?...
Please use easy to understand explanations., since I'm not very tech savy with electronic instruments...
Please help!

Well, here's the thing, your reset/eject buttons don't light, right? If they don't, it's DEFINATELY the problem.
I would advise bringing someone else's ps2 to test their ribbon cable in your ps2 to be certain..

That right, no lights at all from the eject/reset buttons, once i turn the power switch in the back to "on". I have ordered the ribbon cable froms Richspsxparts.com yesterday, since getting one from somebody else, once they know mine doesn't work will be impossible..hehe
I will post once i receive the replacement ribbon with the result.
Thankyou for you're help!

No problem. Check your PSU to be safe, see if it has any burnt capacitors or anything, this happened to me before and the PSU was at fault.

Success at last! –

Blessed,
I tried putting in the new ps, with the same old bent ribbon cable. This time though, at least the red light on the power button went on, but still no power. Thats when i tried my last resort and put in the new eject/reset ribbon cable and finally SUCCESS! after almost 1 month my ps2 came back to life and is working fine.
The culprit was then BOTH the old ps and my badly bent ribbon cable.
Thankyou!
