Dead PS2

I have a v10 that is very much dead which I'm trying to revive. I have notised this pattern:
Lazer works (motion and focus) but cd won't spin then I blame the PS12 fuse.
CD spins, lazer won't do anything then I check the coils and if dead we all know what that means.
However this time the PS2 won't start, however cd spins & lazer is alive, but the tray wont eject. It justs gives a grinding noise when I press eject (one time, after that it doen't even do that). So I looked in to it and the motor that opens the tray is fine, it's just not getting any power (unless you call 0.6-0.7 volts power). So I'm thinking it's a short somewhere. However the tracks coming out of the motor don't lead anywhere and I can't seem to figure out what controls it. Can someone help me? Where do the two tracks marked with red on the picture end up? Any suggestions? Thanks.

The points you have indicated end up in pin 5 and 6 of the LA chip.

Check PS11 fuse to see if it's working good.
Check the 5 poles cable to see if you have any bended pin.

Thanks Chip&Chop. The ps11 fuse seems ok. Upon further inpection one the matter I found out that the LA is giving me 5 volts simultaneously on both legs when I turn the ps2 on. Shouldn't one go to ground and the other go to 5V depending on whether it's trying to open or close the tray?

Wow, intersting reading.

But I have to say, I have no idea whats going on. Fixing PS2s is way out of my league. I would just cut my losses short, save some time and go buy a new mobo.

How did you get to where you re now with all of the problems? Was it after a mod? Or did it just start doing it?

Well, I never checked it, but theoretically you are right.
If you have 5 voltss simultaneously on both legs than either the LA went nuts or the motor is dead or you have a short around the board in someplace.

Remove the 5 pole wires and check if you have any short on the motor or the cable.

To tjtownz: I bought it very cheap in this condition, and I was planning to trade it but I got hooked with this problem. It seemed like a sort but if I look any more trying to find it I'm going to kill myself.
To Chip&Chop: Oh trust me it might be a lot of things but a short it is not. If I hadn't replaced the LA would have said the same. The motor is not dead it works fine on another ps2. I just give up
