is there a definitive way to test whether or not the ba5810 is dead on the board? I have a v1 which is refusing to eject.. I checked to see if the ba voltage in is shorting on to the ground, it's not.. and the ba still seems to be warming up.. I've checked every fuse I can find without desoldering and seperating the metal cover to see the other side of the board
um u can try this get the tray out manually by opening hte ps2. Then turn it on if the traygoes back in then the ba seems fine. Does the ps2 eject blink when u press it??? if so then maybe a resistor might be dead
thanks for the quick reply..
the ps2 eject light does blink when I press it, I will try manually opening the tray and seeing if it closes
by the way, this machine was modded with ice code on an sx28 which worked perfectly fine for about 1 day and then refused to eject.. it boots to the browser, although the disc will not spin in any way, I have checked that the tray motor itself still functions by applying 12v to it and it ejects and closes fine.. the laser still flashes and whichever motor controls the the lateral movement of the laser assembly also seems to work as it moves back and forth when powered on
sounds like the 5810 is damaged, general problem with 5v mod chips!!
