Damn! Think i destroyed a cap on the SCEX point v12 –
It seems a pole or piece of metal was accidentally ripped from the capacitor or resistor. So I need to replace it. I have older trashed PS2 board. Could I take any part from them? Are these caps sensitive depending how you solder them? I wonder if they have two poles, plus and minus.
I don't think the ps2 have small caps like the ones on the v12. Couple people told me that you can use the pstwo without that cap. Just solder the scex point on the via right next to that cap.
YES, you can install WITHOUT that cap, Works FINE , use the via
me too.. works fine for 3 months now without the cap.
PS1 backups work with the capasitor off ?
Yeah, does it works with DVD and PS1 backups without the cap? So the cap could be removed every time really?
Otherwise I would be grateful if you could tell me if older PS2 revisions have caps with same value. If you have a DMM able to measure the capacitance, I would be very happy if you did
yes you can remove it
the old models like v3,v4 worked somtimes better if it was removed !
Yes you just solder the sx point to the resister next to the cap.
