Damn DUO problem.
Damn DUO problem. –
I have already modded over 100 PS2s in this year. Now I got some problem with DUO modchip. About 2 weeks ago I installed a DUO on my customer 39001 v7 PS2. It used to work when I first install. It work fine until today... my customer call me and said it won't load backup at all. Then he return to me and let me check if there was anything wrong. I check and it really won't load any kind of backups. But it CAN load original games perfect. So it must not the laser problem. Now the DUO is still inside. But it just like no modded at all or no power to the DUO chip itself. I can even load PS1 original in default PS2 mode. I had also try to use alt. 5V points but still no luck. And this is not the first time I having this "NO POWER" issue on DUO. I tried to installe a DUO on a v2 before. Same thing. Work at the beginning. Got no POWER issue after. So I wondering did any1 also got this problem with DUO? Thanks.
maybe u r just unlucky and ended up with some faulty chips. u should get them exchange.
Sold over 100 of them. Personally installed between 10 and 20 - never had this problem!
Sounds like either:
1) wires come loose
2) blown fuse
3) poor soldering - i.e. slightly dry joint - appears connected but a gentle tug is all you would need to pull the wire away. This can happen to any of us so i am not picking on your skills.
This is usually the case on the V1-V3 stations on the DVD controller pins.
with heat they can come loose if not soldered correctly.
Try re-heating each solder point with the iron just to ensure good connections.
yeah I think it might have just been a bad install or chip.
" can even load PS1 original in default PS2 mode"
I don't know about you but my duo chip self boots everything I don't need to switch modes.
never tried doing that...
Never tried what? Do you mean trying the self booting? Cause my duo self boots DVD's, ps2 games, ps games, cd-r's, dvd-r's... But my question is is that doesn't the new matrix infinity clam to be the first chip that doesn't need to switch modes. And I don't need to switch modes at all. ShadowKnyght you seem do quit a few duo installs could you confirm this. does yours do this too?
I have installed about 20 DUO's also and I have not had that problem. But I also do have to switch to ps1 mode by holding reset on all my installs. I was not aware that the DUO had an autodetect feature. Are you sure you don't have to switch modes?
Finally solve the problem!! faulty chips!!!!!!!!!!!
Bad xxxx quality is the normal problem!!!!!!!
hey sioivo - where did you get them from - let us know so that others can avoid buying from that person.
