Custumer service Q (for modders)
Custumer service Q (for modders) –
Just wondering, when you recieve a ps2 for a chip install, when do you usually return it (duration?)
Also, what warranites do you modders out there give out to customers on the chip install?
I generally give a one hour or 1½ hour turnaround time - depending on what version of PS2 it is. Most of the PS2 installs only take me about ½ an hour, but I like to have a little extra time in case there are problems. If it's a v9 or v10, I'll take a little longer because of the Romeo mod (having to tear the PS2 apart, do the Romeo mod, put it back together to test, then tear it apart again to install the modchip).
As far as warranty goes, I offer a lifetime guarantee on my work. I generally guarantee the modchip itself for 90 days, but the install is guaranteed for the life of the console. I also tell people that if they ever have any problems with their PS2 (disc read errors or whatever - doesn't matter), to bring it back to me and I'll see what I can do. If the PS2 needs to be repaired, I'll usually repair it at no charge - but the customer must pay for any parts needed. The way I look at it, it's almost an extended warranty for their PS2.
