Crazy verification question

ok, i have an NTSC v7 with a magic 2 clone (i bought back before i knew about the existence of clones -- it's green

).

the strange thing that I?ve noticed about it is ? IT WORKS LIKE A CHARM.

i constantly see threads about how people are looking for updates to get a certain game working with their modchip, even though I don?t have any problems with my OLD magic 2 clone.

what gives? i realize that this is a question more directed to modchip coders, but you think that if they were able to inject the disc verification code for a magic 2 successfully, then what has changed now?

side note: ok, ok ? I don?t have all of the special features of chip update, ATAD patching, and splinter cell(?) doesn't work after saves, etc, but what?s up with verification?

some clones are VERY well made and some are very cheaply made. Same goes for the Magic3.1 I had an official one which was crap but my friend had me install a Magic3.1 clone he bought and I swear it worked alot better.
