  1. #1 Controller problem with Matrix Infinity on v5

    1) I just had a vendor on here do my install and i have this problem with my ps2 now where if boht my dual shock 2 controllers are installed... the directional control is held onto (like a caps lock key) and if i tap "down" it is staying down. if i tap up, it stays at up. if i tap left it stays left, etc.

    2) also, i cannot turn off my analog so the red light stays on...

this is definitely not a problem related to my controller because i switched them around and the problem only happens when i have two controllers plugged in. if it's just one controller, then everything's fine...

anyone have similar problems and how would this get resolved? thanks

For my experience the problem of this behaviour normally is located in the flat cable connecting the PS2 motherboard with the small controller board.
Most probably is wrongly inserted or broken or some pins bended/making short.

yes, I had a similar problem arise on my v9 with infinity (call it a coincidence)
but after about 6 months the 2nd controller port would not work, no matter what controller you used... however the analog light would come on, so I was stumped!

opened her up, unplugged the controller daughterboard, and reconnected it, al is good now, I dont know what was actually wrong, but hey its working! for at least 4 months now

Flat cable is very sensible. If you move it around during assembly or not insert it in a perfect way it can create this kind of behaviours on the controllers.

just moving the ribbon i guess got the controller to work, but the analog lights wont go off still.. a minor nuisance but still :-\
