constant reboot....freezing with matrix infinity v13 ps2 slim install –

i just got my brand new v13 ps2 slim professionally modded and have the following problems.
plugged it in, boots up fine, then bam..reboot..again...again...and again....
each time the ps2 would run fine for about 10 seconds before reboot. I couldn't even turn it off, the machine would reboot itself even when off(standby).
I unplugged it for 10 minutes, then decided to give it another go, surprisingly it no longer reboots, everything seems to work fine.
fast forward 30 minutes, i'm playing dynasty warriors 5 and it freezes twice. by now i noticed that the fan is on full blast and the ps2 is quite hot.
I updated the firmware to 1.54 hoping that would solve the problem. Again i'm playing dynasty warriors 5 and it freezes 3 times, the first 2 times it came back after a few seconds, the third time it froze solid, i couldn't even turn it off, the light stays green, reset button has no effect.
obviously i'm a little irrated by this, being a brand new ps2 and all.
i appreciate any help or advice you gurus might have, I'll have to send it back if this keeps on.

clean both RST points (on chip and on ps2) with acetone (nail polish remover) using a cotton tip pick

thanks for the advice summ0ne, but i have no idea what those points are, I'll probably just send it back to the modder and have him fix it.

I think it was a dirty installation.
