ok im looking for my first ps2 modchip. i dont have a ps2 yet, but when i get it, it'll be either a v7 for sure (an old one from a friend), or probably a v10 if i get a new one.

from reading these forums, people have mixed opinions i noticed. I need a good, relialbe chip that'll direct boot EVERYTHING (or as much as possible) on dvd-r. of course it has to boot originals as well, and movies.

i've read only bad things about the magic V on these forums. Ive heard some good comments about the magic 3.1, and some good comments on the DMS3. there are also complaints and problems about magic3.1. However, from reading the descriptions of all the chips, they all seem to do the same thing.
the DMS chips are far more expensive than any magic chip though.

so what should i get? This is getting really confusing, since modchip.ca has a magic3.2 (although i wont buy from them anyways).

i need help choosing one first. what are my best options for a v7 or a v10?

    thanks a lot

I haven't done one yet but the Matrix MLX2 looks like the best choice right now in terms of cost and wire count. Other then that they all work M2, DWS, Magic, etc it's just a matter of the features you want and the $$$ you're willing to spend.

I would go for a MATRIX MXL 2 mate, ive installed about 40 of these so far, its rock solid and boots everything goin, if you want a cheaper chip than the MXL 2, and you have a v-7 or lower, i would recommend the DOU, its very good 2, but the MXL 2 is the 1 to go for, IMO.

Out of the 40 you have done can you tell us have any of the V9 or V10 you've chipped with the MXL2 have gone bad?

the ms2pro would be fine too on a v7
I thought saving 15% on my car insurance was good but having my ps2 modded by N£TM£ÇH was way better!
