hi there does the track need to be cut for this fix thanks.

Your choice

You can install it without cutting the track and without installing L2
(if you don't cut the track, then you don't install L2)

does it make much diffrence in the protection just connecting L1 . thanks for the quick repliy.

It's not related to the protection. the cut is there to put a 10k resistor between the microchip and the MECHANICS controller to make less stress on the MECHANICS when the PIC pull the MUTE to LOW state.

but think of it, the modchip do that every patch.

so after testing and confirming with summone it's safe to install without the extra wire (l2).
