comsoft slimline fix v4
comsoft slimline fix v4 –
for a while i thought i had found the right fix for v12, but i just had two returns for laser problems in a row
both are v12 with wide laser (SPU3170, found a lot in oz)
both fitted with comsoft v4 fixes
one last less than a week, the other last only a month
i wonder what ppl's experience is about comsoft fix + SPU3170 laser?
if this is not the one, what fix do you use for SPU3170?
if you was reading the forums , u could know that the fix is to save the coils from burning when the mechanics controller is in deadlock.
NOT TO SAVE THE DIODES OF THE LENS WHEN USING BAD MEDIA!!!
please read before posting!
try holtering the pots this seems to help if not change the optical block with a pvr.
thanks for confirming the fix doesn't work well with wide lasers.

At the time some people reported that just using a shut down fix will eventually kill the wide lens after the fix has shutdown the ps2 a few times read this

regarding the wide lens, u need to addjust to DVD pot.
Comsoft v4 fix definately works BEST! I have been using these for at least 8 months now. I only have 3 returns on SPU lens. Maybe because I didn't adjust the pots or customers using shitty discs. When I wasn't using Comsoft Fixv4 I replace at least 15 machines in 3 months!
Its easier just to replace with with pvr802 lens optical block and guides as the wide laser one is a different size. You can get this part here:http://www.divineo.cn/cgi-bin/div-cn/ps2-ob802 and its not very expensive and will save you loads of problems. I changed all my v12 wide lens ones with the 802 and no returns,
Hope this helps,
hi bunghoolio, care to point me to pot adjusting for wide lasers?
