I have a USA NTSC v9 PS2 modded with a subzero 2, connected to my tv with the Sony component cables. Whenever I try to watch a DVD movie or attempt to boot with the chip off, somehow the video output changes to what I am presuming is RGB rather than YbPbCr - picture gets pink and horribly garbled. I booted with the chip off and managed to fumble my way through the system settings and the RGB/YbPbCr toggle does absolutely nothing. This also happens when I boot a PS1 game, but the problem goes away as soon as the Playstation logo appears on the screen. All games display properly, and none of these problems occur when I am not using component cables...although switching back to composite isn't an option because it looks like complete shit.
From what I've read this may be related to the RGB fix, which obviously would be doing me no good since I am not using RGB. Is it possible to disable this, or is this even the problem?
If anyone has any fixes/ideas/suggestions I would be extremely appreciative.
