    V7/V8 = lots of proven and reliable chips available to mod

    V9 = hit and miss - most of the big names in the chip world seem to have bugs that have blown the stations - or more likely just some poor installers.

    If you can get a V7/8 go for it. Else be careful which chip you choose for the V9.

    They claim some improvements like quieter fan on the V9 (gee wow) but I would suggest that mostly Sony has just found a cheaper way of making the station yet again.
