Collor Striped screen and high beep noise.

Got a repair job thats bothering me. The guy had tried to do the install by him self and ofcourse destroyed a VIA. I remove install, fix the broken via by scraping out the track and soldering a cable to the chip. Then i install like i usually do, i have done this fix a few times before when someone broke a VIA, but only on v4 and v7 machines. Anyway i install chip etc like usuall and then decide to try the machine. Instead of booting up like it usually does the TV shows Collored stripes like a test img and i hear i high beep noise from the TV. The laser does some wierd spinning/focusing then stops (only for half a sec). Eject work as normal reset work etc. Anyone got any ideas?

each ic has a test circuit maybe one was triggered by either breaking contact in the circuit or adding ground to it.

EnTiTy is right there was a small bridge between legs show in pic. Note that pic is from v7 problem machine is v9. This must have some how triggered the test picture. (I think it was those legs was one of these small things anyway). I didnt look very closely there at first since i didnt get why he would ever solder anything near that area.
