chip on the new ps2 USA ?

Hi to everyone.

I live in USA , NY and I am thinking to buy a new ps2 ( my last ps2 30001r v5 , got black screen trying to install messiah 2 . My ps2 with messiah worked for 1 year , untill I had the good idea to open it to fix a little proble that I had . Since that day I got black screen)


Could u please tell me if the new model of ps2 can be modded ??
What is the new ps2 model number that is now sold in the USA ???

I would like to use cd-r , dvd+r , cd original and dvd original on my ps2 but I would like to know if there is a chip to install that is better than messiah 2 and also easier to install ( I would prefer without wire )

I think that messiah it's a great chip and last version works on both machines,
I know that a chip called ******* is been released and it's only 14 cables (easier to install) but I haven't try it,
Another excelent choise is magic ice, but you have to work a little to make it,
But there are a lot of them matrix, mars, magic...

I think that messiah is your best choise
