Chip for me (v4 ps2)

Whats the right chip for me?
I do not care about any dvd features such as macrovision.
I do not care much about playing ps1 games (backups and rips)
I do not care much about playing homebrew
I do not care much about playing EA games (although it would be nice)
I do not care about online play
I DO care A LOT about playing ps2 games (originals backups and rips)
I DO care about having a nonswap chip
I DO care about spending more money than needed
I DO care about the compatibility with ALL or most games (Jak2 and R&C:GC compatible?)

I'll probably send mine to an installer so difficulty doesn't matter. My friend has a v7 ps2 but never plays it. Would it still be difficult to solder one of those playstations (He never plays it so we'll probably trade or something)? I have some experience soldering my xbox (xecuter 2.3 lite), but ps2 is supposed to be much harder. Are there any charts that distinguishes the differences.

Either M1, M2 or MXL2. Even cheap mods like Duo will do, there are many options now.

All will suit you just fine...

M1 was THE baby for v4, did MANY of those.

duo has a couple less wires to solder , thats all
