which chip am i using ???

i bought my premodded-ps2 about 3 years ago.....and i didnt know so much about it then, to ask the guy which chip does it use........so, is there anyway, i can find out which chip am i using, without having to open up my ps2 ???

here are a few clues....

direct booting for backup DVDR, CDR....

have to press reset twice, for PS1 backups and DVD backups....

I think u have one of the magic chips, thats what it sounds like to me.

really is hard to tell witout a pic, if it works than i wouldn't worry about what chip is installed

That isn't a magic or ICE based chip.

Magic and ICE based chips you have to hold the reset button down until the blue light comes in.

That rules out the Duo Series, and every other modchip I've ever used (Magic series, Apple series, brute force NH7, MI based clones...)

I don't know what that would be, but if you look through divineo.cn and look at the boot instructions of all of the chips (that would work on your PS2 ver) then you'll likely find it.

How does Messiah method work? I've used the ghost and it uses reset taps to choose flash mode. It's an autodetect chip, but it's a new messiah.

Oh I just looked around.

Your chip is based on messiah code, and is likely in a V4 console.

Verify if your PS2 is v4?

i have a v5.v6 ps2....and i heard that there is an ELF that ps2 world .it have developed, that identifies the chip in ure ps2........is it true? and if it is, can someone plz post it here ?

No such elf exists,the only way to identefy a chip is to take a pic of it and post it here or look it up yourself.
