changing mod chips

Hi
I've got a PSTWO that has a messiah chip soldered.
All games seemed to work fine but now any new game that I get is very slow loading and some of my older games are really slow loading (not normal).
I tried the same games on another ps2 and they worked fine.
Is this problem from the chip itself or the laser ??
I thought it would be the chip because some games work smoothly without any errors or slow downs.

Moreover, if I need to change my mod chip which chip should you advise me to get ??
I've got a v12 pal console.
I asked about mod chips at the stores nearby and almost all of them said that they install M7 (not sure if it was M7 or V7). I've never heard of that chip before
Is it a good one ??
The price was around 20 US dollars

and by the way, how do you open the pstwo ??
I tried to but couldn't find anything to unscrew

Probably the laser, it's a common item to fail in v12's, I doubt a different modchip would make any difference to load times.

ummm if it is the laser then how come other games (such as dbz budokai tenkaichi ) work really smooth ??!!
so now i need to change the laser ??

just clean your laser firs .. if your system is on the floor then 98% time its just a dirty laser.

yah it's on the floor all of the time
so how do i clean the laser firs ??
just normally with a cloth or there is a special way to do so ??

you can just take a q-tip and dip in alcahol. then clean the laser with it. and then dry it with the dry side of the q-tip.

hmmm this might sound wierd but there is no possibility of getting alcohol over here. can i use perfume ??

WTF no ruibbing alohol (isoproyl) ?? are you in the Pen ?? well its not a 100% fix but use bootleg 200%proof or strate vodca (or Bruno if in jail). get that q-tip and get it damp and swab it once let hir dry and start it up also if you can get dust off take off metl guard over laser and give a light blow under lense. also if games are Gtrand torismo 4 direct back up or original then new chip wuld help or if your system is a referb used V12 for 3mo or more with out fix laser culd be going out..Good luck ..

ok this is what i did
i disassembled the pstwo and cleaned the dust from inside
i also found some hair inside !!
then after that i used a qtip with isopropyl alcohol (was lucky to find it) to clean the lens

there is a slight improvement with the loading speed but it is still not the normal speed
also there are instances where the sound is not synchronized with the picture

try taking your laser down 50-90 ohms.. i had to set a factory v14 down becuse some movies wuld not load b4 install ..
