Probably a partially burned BA5815FM chip. You can't test it, because only one channel may be dead or some of its parameters have altered. If your old laser has at least one of the lens coils with a resistance less than 5 ohms, it means that the BA chip is burned too and you must replace it also.

Explanations in the attached picture (it's a B laser, but it should be the same with your R laser too).

thanks emanuel but urs is normal lens without the cover
mine is a R type set lens implying those eg, 30001R sets
the lens is already without cover so it is quite troublesome as i had no experience dealing with such lens
and regarding the lens coil , what should be the normal working value??
and how the values will affect the lens and set??
thanks very much for any help

The coils should have a resistance of about 5 ohms. If they are burnt, their resistance will be in the range 1.5-3 ohms. That means that the BA5815 sources more current through the coils and eventually the BA burns partially (some of its parameters change).

The value should be stable. Short your probes and see if it gives you 0 ohms. If it is still fluctuating, then you have a loose wire or a bad contact at your measuring equipment. It is also possible that you don't make a good contact between the probes and the coil contacts.

Put the DVD pot in the original position. It should show around 1100 ohms. Also, if you played with the parallax and with the white cog adjustments, you should put them in the original position also.
The parallax (the small screw) is very sensitive.
