CD Tray not openin –
hey people, i gave my ps2 to an installer, with a messiah 2 firmware 1.07 batch 0242 with PCB fix done.
now the install was flawless, i saw it meself, but the tray doesnt open. the lights are on, but when i push the eject button, it doesnt work.
he and i have already checked charlie's trouble shooting, and it cant be an install problem. he checked it over and over, used a solder vaccum to get up and possible excess, and he and i both looked for solder balls behind the legs, but there be none.
is there any other possibility?

Of course it's an install problem! If the tray doesn't open then:
- The BIOS wires are incorrect, probably on MNOP, or solder balls
- RESET wire is at the wrong point
- The EJECT/RESET ribbon cable is damaged or not seated properly
- A Tray motor fuse has blown (see FAQ for v7 fuses)
That's the probablt list.
oh ok, i'll relay the info
thx charlie you a genius
ok dammit.....new problem
he de-soldered everything, cleaned it up, back to normal.
now the eject light isnt even on, and reset does nothing. Power must turned on and off by the I/O switch.....
im beginning to think its a manufacturing problem......i this was what happened before the mod was taken out as well, eventhough he said otherwise.
Seriously suspect the EJECT/RESET cable. It may have been snagged or a screw driven through it or not properly seated in its setting.
my first guess, but he claims its fine, ill see for myself tomorrow
