I've recently run into an odd issue with a v1 PS2. I'm chipping it with a Duo2SE and works great for any CD games but DVD games fail. First thought was the laser but it fails with a RSOD, so it's reading it then failing the DVD. The BIOS points are good because it works fine with CDs, as are the power and ground wires. The CDVD points are whats left. Does anyone know exactly what each of those wires do so I can troubleshoot the problem further? Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure what each do, but just for shits and giggles, hows the S point? believe it or not with my matrix (the first one before I screwed it to hell and back) I had a horrible issue of DVD's not working. I thought it wasn't the cause, but it wasn't soldered correctly. It's worth checking.

Because of the location of the S point on the power supply board on V1s, I never bothered to solder it at all because I've always known it to just do PS1 games but I'll definately take a look at it now. Thanks for the quick reply, I'll report back my findings.
