Capacitor help. Drive won't spin. Can I salvage a replacement?
V7 board, duo 2se. Had lots of probs with it. The capacitor that I soldered the power onto shorted out and blew a fuse, PS4. It would black screen and no eject button. I took out the chip and same thing. I replaced PS4 with another "63" fuse from a V9 board and it finally fires up. I took the capacitor off at this point cause it was pretty mangled from me over heating it and was registering high connectivity all the way through on my multimeter. It boots and goto the browser. If I put a disc in, it only spins if I touch the white spindle with my finger. The odd time it will boot and spin but most of the time it won't spin unless I hand start it, then it boots the game no prob. I assume this is because of the missing capacitor. Is there anywhere on a V9 or a V4 board I can salvage the same capacitor from, if this is the cause of the problem. I attached the v7 diagram to show which one I mean. It's the one where the power wire gets soldered too.
Thanks for any help.
