Capabilities of PS2

I have a soft-modded Xbox with a 120 GB HDD, I run Linux, Media Players, Emulators, Dev. Kits, and some other cool stuff. What are the capabilities of the PS2, is it worth paying for the chips, because I noticed they are very expensive. Xbox can be modded as is, so I don't no what to do on PS2 with the chips and $hit. Could somebody direct me to a getting started guide or explain where to start and what the PS2 is good for? thanks.

ps2 is good for making love with xbox

it's good for playing games. if you wanna watch divx, play mp3's, use any emulator, whatever, you have a pc for that.
