can you replace a 400R with HD7 laser

very simple question - i have a version 5 30002R with a dying laser and am looking to get a new laser but don't want to buy an incompat. type - the laser unit in my 30002R is khs-400R, can i replace this with a HD7?

i believe i have an SPCH-30001R V5 and i dont know what kind of laser it has. i would like to purchase a brand new laser at the lowest possible price.

if i have to open it up i would have to contract someones services to do all the work because i'm not going to open my ps2 and try to diagnose anything. my main problem now is the fact that i'm low on cash. trying to figure out my options. i'd really hate to be without a ps2.

actually i am not totally certain of my model number but it is either a v5 or v6. i thought i read that the model number i posted previously was a v4.

R type laser is same as HD7 you can replace for 100% sure
