    It's a Chip Mars or Mars Chip (old one), those sucks!

    Interesting the only one that I could see with a Xilinx on sksapps was the NH9.

    The mod chip doesn't matter anymore. I removed it and i'm currently running fmcb. My thanks to everyone for the info and some great advice.

    Glad everything is working now. FMCB is much better than most mod chip features. only thing it can't do is direct boot backup games. But at least ESR makes it easier to work around that on PS2 games.

    I never realized it before, but the fan is busted. i never noticed since i never kept it on for longer periods of time 'cos i couldn't do anything with it. After installing fmcb and playing some games, it would keep shutting down constantly with the standard red blinking light. The fan itself works when i hook it up to a battery, must be a broken mainboard connector or some other issue. It's being powered by the usb port for now.
    Also, usb loader is noticeably slower than optical media. Not a suprise since it's usb 1.1, but still kinda dissapointing. Most game intro's stutter like hell. Guess i should get my hands on one of those network adapters...
