Can someone please help me with Modbo 760 Install on V3
Can someone please help me with Modbo 760 Install on V3 –

Well, I got a v3 of PS2. And it got the Modbo 760.
The problem is their image on how to install differs from mine.. I think mine is NOGAP but their only shows GAP. I tried emailing them but they are chinese and pretty much told me they cant do anything about it unless they have my console so they can find the correct point.
here is the image picture of mine and in the corner their image and its a comparison... (note that everything except the R matches)

Anyone know what to do?
I also have a few questions.
1) Do all mod chips have same letters and they always mean same thing? If that is the case what does R stand for?
2) What if I try and go under that chip and solder the R? Can do I do it form the backside of the board?
3) Can you use GAP instructions and solder it the same way to the no-GAP version?
I tried looking on the web for a few days now for Modbo760 instructions on my board but no luck... This here shows it for my board http://www.ghost2.net/guide/G2_v3.jpg but thats a different chip... (thats why i was wondering if letters do same thing on all of them maybe I could use those instructions)...
4) What if I solder it and its wrong.. Will that kill the console? or can I undo it?
Any help appretiated =) Thank you
PS - I didnt really know anything about the mod-chip scene when I ordered. It was cheap and had good features so I ordered.. if I could pick now Id prolly go for the more expensive ones, cuz support for this one sucks =(... so hopefully you guys could help me out =/

I have noticed alot of pople have been saying that Modbo is same as Matrix Infinity... hmmm does that mean I can use same points from Matrix diagram and use them isntead of Modbo diagram?
Then again there are 2 different Matrix infinity's does it matter which one I use? --> http://www.infinitymod.com/cgi-bin/m...?page=products

Modbo is a clone of matrix so uses same points, the homebrew and the other matrix are the same just homebrew has no firmware where other one does
cheers

also, if if i solder it to the wrong spot will that fry the chip or the console? or it just wont work and I can disconnect it and keep trying?
also i think its pretty important that i have the US NTSC console.. the digram u posted is for PAL which is Europe does that matter all?
Oh and by the way thank you soooo much for helping me figure this out

the hombrew is what you said, the matrix team sell a hombrew chip in places where chips are illegal because it wont play backups unless you burn firmware to it.
I would use all points from modbo diagram and just use the alternate R point from matrix, its the same for ntsc, it wont hurt anything if its wrong.
cheers

hmm not sure what you mean there... for my purposes I want to play backups.. not interested in ever making my own games or software.. so i dont need homebrew correct?

You can use Matrix infinity and Modbo diagrams interchangeably as the install points are the same. So just use a MI no-gap diagram. Also if you ever do a V5, use the MI diagram for point Y as the modbo one is wrong.

JuliusPleaser how about point G and H, the MI diagram doesnt have those =/
also would it be bad if I did like all points from MI diagram and didnt do G/H points since they arent on there and turned on the PS2 to see what happens? or should I do all of them and then try it?
