I dont think so thats not 5v. try using a multimeter and find another place if u want. you better off using the original point

as I mentioned.. I'm just worried about the length of the wire to reach that point.
aslong its not longer then 25 centimeters i should be fine. or just change the position of the chip
Try here, the voltage regulator holds 5v marked up as point one in picture.
I appreciate all the help... I guess moving the chip will be my last option. I really don't care to have to resolder the points I've done so far...
Then desolder the modchip itself, not the ps2board points move the chip the solder the wires back on the modchip. pretty easy.Originally posted by depressd

The picture shows that the wires are cut to length. It would be impossible to do just that. Unless I want the chip to be sitting on something it shouldn't be.
What diagram did you use to install the chip. Put the chip at that location, I did and it works fine
