hi
if i fit a h20 5v to a v12 pal ps2 and conncet the j and k wires do i or don't i need to fit an extra resistor to the two 303 resitors??
i think i don't but this diagram (attached) is confusing me

Need to make the CUT TRACK and fit the extra resistor
thanks for the reply m8
so what does the onboard fix on the h20 do then if you still have to fit the extra resistor?? its really confusing me
P
thing is when i fit the extra resistor it seems to make the ps2 boot at random, alot of the time booting to the gold disc screen and rsod, if i remove the resistor it boots fine everytime??
if i don't fit the resistor is it pretty much definately going to burn the laser or is it just a chance of it happening??
P
did you cut the track properly and make sure its actually cut with a multimeter? did you put the right resistor in? and yeah u got a chance to blow ya laser.Originally Posted by pegz
thanks for the rply m8, i've just done another and applied the resistor ands it worked fine.
like you say i probably hadn't gone through the track enough, i've already done one and sold it to a friend of a friend though in which i just left the resistor out as they we're waiting on it.
is it like a 50/50 chance of the laser going? if it blows i'll just have to replace the lens free for them then. i'll just have to hope i get lucky

summ0ne made the summ0ne fix (resistor)
then he improved it with the subzero fix (resistor and extra fixes on a board)
the h20 has the subzero fix onboard but not the summ0ne fix
thats why you still add the resistor but as wozza said make sure you use the right resistor and cut the track
cheers
cheers guys, i get it now, he couldn't really include the resistor fix on the chip as there are different resistor values right.
just got myself all confused and will probably be paying for it with a new laser for someone.
ah well you live and learn
