What was wrong with booting the PS2 in Messiah 2 switch off mode?

1. Put GS2 in
2. Hold RESET until electrons swirl (5 seconds) - Messiah 2 is off
3. GS2 boots & you proceed as normal for DVD movie

Well Charlie, It's Easy like that for us, but they use cheap copies!
if you guys have an original GS2 or AR2, then open your ps2 and CDVD drive, and do the swap with the ps2 open, the old start game without codes trick, wouldn't that just be simple? or am i the only person with his ps2 without any of the screws holding it together? hmmm...

The BIG problem is...

ALL my customers don't want to pay for a GS2 or DVD Region X for that. This is why I want to provide GS3 already in CD-R for free. Mod scene for PS2 here is ultra competitive now.

i do confirm : gameshark 2 v3 DOES make PS2 region free : there's a message telling that "this is no video DVD" ( guess it's because of the chip keeping sending the SCEX signal ) , but the DVD still boots , and works like a charm !
so far , i didn't notice any fps slowdown like the magic2 bug ( who kept sending the signal SCEX even while playing a video DVD ==> playback slowdown) .

It never boots for me. All I can see is DVD-Video as DVD PS2 game. Are you using an original GS3 or a copy ?
