can i replace a 303 resistor witha 330??

probably a stupid question right:oops:

i've killed one of the 303's applying the resistor fix on a v12. i do have another v12 board but i've used the only other 303 on there.

i also have a gh-015 board but that doesn't have any on it either.

i have 330's and 101's, i'm sure i read somewhere about someone putting 3 101's in series instead of a 303. anyone advise on this??

if its possible what would be the best way to do considering they're pretty small

330 = 3.3 ohm
101 = 1K
so No a 330 will not work

WRONG

330 = 33*10^0 = 33*1 = 33 ohms
101 = 10*10^1 = 100 ohms
303 = 30*10^3 = 30,000 ohms = 30 K

And as ZootAllures said, you can NOT use a 330 resistor to replace a 303 one.

You need a 30k resistor... which will have 303 printed on it

Never replace with a component of a different value

No, you DONT want to replace with 303!!!

Replace it with a 01D, because then u dont need a summ0ne fix :)

Best way to replace are

1) Heat the resistor and take it off.
2) Put the resistor on some tape so it sticks to it, add solder on both sides
3) Solder wire to the resistor on the tape. Close it (isolate it)
4) Wire the 2 wires to the mobo

This is very easy procedure.

And isn't 01D just an alternate stock resistor? Looking at the summ0ne diagram it looks like the stock resister can be a 303 683 or 01D. Unless I'm missing something about the diagram.

According to SUb Zero diagrams, no resistor is needed when 01d.
The safe "v13" models also come with 01d.

i know some ppl use resistor on 01d, but most ppl claim its not needed.

However, the shutdown fix that is integrated on v13, is not on v12 models replace the 303 to 01d dosent make the machine safe as v13.

so i can just replace the damaged 303 resistor straight with an 01d and that takes care of summ0nes aswel??

is it best to use the metal film type as usually used for summ0nes??

are there any 01d resistors anywhere else on a board i could use as i have a donor board??
