Can a 'C' type laser be used in a V5 with 'R' type
I have this V5 I'm modding for a guy with an apple pro, that has a bad laser and after 3 hours of adjusting it still can?t get it to read CD-R back-ups. DVD-R back-ups are working great. I'm going to suggest to him that he get a new laser but I wanted to know if the 'C' type lasers from like the V7 units will work in a V5 that has an 'R' type laser in it now. I'm asking this because I'm under the impression that the 'C' type lasers are better right?
