can anyone help me out here? –
hey guys whats up... well i gotta cousin of mine modding my pstwo with matrix infinity.. and i ask him wuts taking so long.. this is his response to me
"" yo man, i got it soldered (the wires) except for the main board (where the transistors are VERY SMALL)...
I had everything wired - and tested it a couple of times and it failed - so I unsoldered the wires from the main board and trying to get my hands on a thinner nose soldering iron ... know of any? (I MEAN REAL THIN).. that's why it's taking so long - the dang thing is small!... ""
So can anyone plz tell me wuts the problem hes having.. id really appreciate it thank you.
my advice is to get the board back from him and give it to someone who knows what they're doing.
He is trashing your PS2

Tired, so very tired
well is there any advice to what he can do to actually mod the ps2? get a bigger magnifying glass.. or smaller soldering iron.. any advice will be helpful thank you.
definately a smaller wattage iron with a small tip. get him to first remove the modchip and see that everything still works. if your iron gets too hot it could easily destroy a components.
well my tip should be search for a better modifier
it does not matter how much watt or size you solder tip is
i still can make good results with a 60 watt soldering iron and a big tip
the trick is knowing when your solder is melted enough
No tools or tricks can't help if you not have the feeling
if your mate need a sample of how it should look check my picture
a proinstaller in the netherlands
ok so heres the result in wut happened when he modded it and tried for the first time..
he says that there was no video on the t.v .. it would never show up.. and when he desoldered it .. it works fine. so anyone know what the problem is here?
Blackscreen mostly means a short somewhere on the mainboard
also is it possible that you have a Homebrew infinity
with those it is normal that you have a blackscreen the first time
try booting the pstwo with reset button pressed for 1 or 2 seconds a picture should appaer then you also can update your firmware of the infinity
more info to find on the matrix site www.infinitymod.com
So what happens when theres alot of solder inside the ps2 and u boot it? wuts the result ?
but only if you make shorts with it. wich is most likely if you over do it
