Calling all experts another v9 problem !!
Alright got a v9 ntsc ps2 here did did the romeo mod... tested worked fine.. installed a magic 50k tested and dvd media, originals and backups both do not boot. The disc spins.. slows stops.. spins, stops etc the finally dies out.. a sucking type noise in between each spin is heard as well. I completely removed the chip and romeo mod and i get the same problem. Audio cd's are the only thing that will play.
Both coils on the HD-7 laser are about 6 ohms as well.
