I'm going to buy my ps2 tomorrow is there any special way to go about testing the ps2 to make sure it's working okay before I put the chip in. example load games ten 10 times in a row or keep it on all day then try loading games again if it passes this test your Ps2 is fine.
thanks,

What a strange question! Your PS2 is fine if it plays games and DVD movies. What else? or have I misunderstood you?
Just buy the PS2, try a DVD game and if it works buy the chip, get it installed professionally and you are away.

haven't you every bought something and it goes bad after the warranty passes. It's like you should use it a lot before the warranty runs out it see if it's good.
Once I put the chip in I can't take it back to the store if something starts to go wrong with it I'll be asking myself the question is there something wrong with the install or is it the machine that has broken down(no good to begin with).
They must sell ps2's that stop working after x amount of usage for some reason.
I don't know if that's any clearer
