Bududududu noise when loading DVD-R
Bududududu noise when loading DVD-R –
Hi, I installed a magic 3.1 clone (previous 10 or so work fine) in a Ver7 GH-022 and I get a weird sound like a muffled machine gun firing for about 1 sec, multiple times while the console is trying to read the disc. (It doesn't load)
Backup CD-R's, retails and DVD movies work fine.
Any ideas?? Does this indicate that the laser requires adjustment?
P.S. I came across this once before on a friends Ver7 -019 with original Magic 3.1 that someone else installed for him. No fix was found.
i had this problem... the laser is trying to move on that rotating thing but it not fastened tightly, i had to take off the screws holding the rails, then hold the part of the laser fastened on the rotating stick which moves the laser, and then tighly screw the rail screws...
Sounds interesting, however this PS2 is brand new, bought it on sale at B.B. Odds of this happening on a new one are??
Also, CD-R's, retails and DVD movies work fine.
I'll take a look anyway, ya never know, and thanks for the reply
Has no one else come across this problem or is it for sure the laser rails???? Help? I keep expecting to see a Commodore 1541 floppy drive when I hear this noise
Problem solved, tweaked the DVD pot as per Charlie_PS2's guide and voila, reads DVD-R no problem.
