    when i was checking all the solder points on my v9 and trying to resolder i broke off one of the legs on the chip how serious is it ,is my son's ps2 fried ?

    take a picture and post it. It would be more helpful that way to figure out the problem.

    if you look at a version 9 board it is the large chip not sure which chip it is

    without ID'ing the chip there's not much we can do. But if any leg breaks off an IC your pretty screwed.

    Afraid your horribly screwed them. afaik you can't buy these chips and its going to be virtually impossible to replace even if you had one. Looks like your going to have to buy another v9 motherboard.

    Man, that sounds rough. V9 boards are one thing I have a few spares of. Now good lasers, that's one thing I am shy of...
