    Hello all!

I have a few questions that I hope someone can answer. I am moving to Italy in 3 weeks and I would like to bring my NTSC PS2 (that I will mod with a DMS3) over there without buying a new one. The questions are:

    1. Would it be possible to hook up the PS2 to a PAL tv?
    2. Will I be able to see DVD's from Italy?
    3. How can I resolve the 110-220 and 50-60hz issue?

Ultimately should I take the PS2 with me?

    thanks!

    E.

Yes you can NTSC/PAL is in the games not the PS2. Buy a converter for PS2 from sony to solve the powerissue (or any other converter )

here's some more clarification on this:

1)Most (if not all) PAL TV's in europe support NTSC, you may have to buy a RGB scart cable to play your NTSC games in color

    2) Although the region your PS2 is in has changed, it doesn't change the DVD region internaly. So you need a method to play 'out of region' DVD's.

    3)Powerconverter

    1. Would it be possible to hook up the PS2 to a PAL tv?
If the TV is multi system , then you would be fine.

    2. Will I be able to see DVD's from Italy?
Most likely not, NTSC ps2 machine are know to have the problem of not being able to view PAL DVD. (ie no region lock pal DVD)

    3. How can I resolve the 110-220 and 50-60hz issue?
    Power converter. ie 220v--->110v output.
    or
you can change the ps2 psu for a 220v one.

I would definitely take my PS2. Just a couple of points:

Do the color fix on your ps2(to the PAL point=ground)
Your PS2 wont run PAL DVD movies no matter what(different buffer sizes)
With color fix youll be able to run american games and european in color. Of course your tv in europe should support 60Hz signal from an american game(most do).
    Hope it helps.
    At my signal...unleash hell
