I had someone bring me a v14 that they tried to mod and killed the power point, really, really bad. I attached a diagram showing where the missing components are. In the after diagram, all the ones I blacked out are no longer there. There are no more capacitors (brown ones) and whatever the big black one that the 3.3v gets soldered too are no longer there at all. The ps2 does turn on, and if it has a disc in it, it does seem to read and boot but the screen stays black. Any idea what I could to fix that point and possibly fix the black screen. I have tons of older ps2's around, if I can take any components from there. It's pretty botched though. I'll try and take a pic of the area later and put it up but just imagine no components in that whole area and the board chared underneath it.

if you have a slim with a dead board then take the caps of of it and replce on that V14 but even that might not make it work. sloder to the pad's or worst case jumper to the track no tracks bust out the microscope and fiber glass pen but work slow PS2 slim board is 4 laysers!!. If your not use to doing this type of work id tell the guy tuff shit.. Any board that takes me more then 3 Hrs to repair is not worth my time....

    Good luck
