Greetings fellow users! I modded my v4 with a crystal that works flawless but however, my laser is shot and I cant install bootmanager with the cd. I have xport and I am wondering if I can compile the elfs for bootmanager and transfer to my mc. Did anyone ever try this by any chance? If so please walk me through it... I've done searches but none were pertaining to my situation. I tried using savebuilder but Im thinking that the elf is in the wrong directory...

How do you know it's installed correctly? How did you flash it if you can't run cd-r?
You can get someone with a modded ps2 to install BM to a memory card. If you have enough skills to mod a ps2 then you should have enough skills to tweak the pots and clean your laser some. maybe then you can at least run cd-r's and install bm and apps from a cd.

The laser was an hd7 laser that booted originals and cd-rs fine but not dvdrs. That was the opportunity I used to flash the firmware. Then I smashed the azimuth screw holder on the hd7 and had to switch the laser with a metal housing. Since I did that the laser won't do jack for me. Now I have to boot the lenschanger off bm to switch back to a khs-400c laser. I guess the most foolproof way would be to use another modded system.

What brand of dvd-r are you using? Make sure you use ritek or verbatim and burn at 2x.
