Alright..now that I've calmed down a little. Is there a GUARANTEE that the Gameshark will boot Xenosaga with an Apple Chip inside of the V4 1C console? Or at least a high percentage chance? I realize that laser power may still be an issue here. The console is still a fairly young one (haven't even had it a year) and I've been relatively prudent about my playing habits (not leaving it on for exceptionally long periods..nor do I play it every single day out of the year); as aggravating as it is, I may shell out the money for the GS, then sell the modded unit to a friend with the M2 comes out.
its the apple chip, not a laser issue.
yes a GS 1.93 will boot it. That is what alot of apple customers are reporting on other forums.
Will the later versions of the GS boot it as well? As silly a question as that may seem, I'm not taking any chances at this point.

Got ahold of the friend's Gameshark again. I checked the version and certainly enough, it was a version 2. Unfortunately the result was the same when I tried to boot Xenosaga (other games booted fine); at the prompt where it asks to insert the disc and hit "X" to start the game, I do such, but it remains frozen there when Xenosaga is inserted.
So in bluntest terms, it appears that I'm S.O.L. until the Messiah 2 comes out..or I get ahold of a Japanese PS2.
Edit: Further problems; it now rarely boots import originals past the Playstation 2 logo screen.

You probably need to look to the laser.
I've tried GSv1.93 on my V4 console, and after hitting X, it just froze. So, perhaps on all console that uses the Apple Modchip will work with GameShark esp those with GSv1.93
But it's weird that some got their GSv1.93 working. This is the type of chip I have installed (Not by choice).
