Booting Backups... Opinions???

Hey everyone, I am just looking for your opinions and would like to know what is the best way to boot a backup of a playstation2 dvd game on a V7 PS2? Preferably you would mention methods that would only cost around $50, and would not require TOO much soldering!! I burnt up my original Playstation with a litle solder incident.... So just looking for opinions on what is best, I looked into the swipe card but read some negative things about it. is it a reliable way? and what about the HDD method? I obtained DVDLoader but can someone tell me what is the HDD method and how would I use DVDLoader? Also what is just a good modchip to use? I think I heard good things about infinity??(is that right?) thanks for the info!

Matrix infinity is the best if u ask me.
Havent tryed other, but of what i have read on the net it seems to bee that way.

And about booting backups, a chip is the best way to go. combine it with a hdd and u have a backup game monster
