Boot Problems - Please help!

Im having a lot of problems booting up games , I have a dms V3 modchip . I ordered a pre modded ps2 with this chip from modchipman.com . The porblem is It takes something like 6 times before I can boot up a backup on a dvd-r . Ive tried a lot of different brands of dvds so that cant be the problem. with the ps2 came an instruction sheet which said Im meant to wait till the ps2 boots up and close the tray for the game to boot . I do this but it takes atleast 6 times , and yes I have flashed the chip , but it didnt solve the problem.

e-mail modchipman.com and let them know, sounds like there could may be a bad laser or a cold solder joint on the CD/DVD Controller points perhaps which is why it may only work sometimes?
