    Hey everyone,
I just installed a matrix infinity in a friend's v9. Everything worked fine, so i reassembled it, tested it again, and sent it to him. Then he calls me and tells me that he plugged it in, and when he hits reset/eject it flashes green for about half a second then it goes back to standby(red). I've been doing some reading on this and from what i can tell it sounds like a blown fuse, so i'm going to get a multimeter and test for continuity. Just wondering though, am i looking in the wrong place? since it was most definately working when i gave it to him, and it stopped working right after he plugged it in, i cant imagine why else it would be doing this.......

    thanks in advance

Maybe reset/eject cables. There are defective infinity chips that wont work properly in v7-v12. Dont try shorting the fuse as it could cause major problems. I also think the install could be bad. Try checking the install. Did you do the romeo mod? I hope this helps.

    thanks for the quick reply

i've done tons of these(well, only like 12 or so), and since it booted everything i threw at it when i tested it, i know the install was fine.

i busted out my multimeter and tested the fuses. as suspected, all the fuses read 0.00...except for the ps14 which is like 15k ish, so im assuming that that ones out. Any ideas on where to get a replacement? Also, how would something like this happen?

The romeo mod does make a difference. It prevents the LA chip and laser from dying. As for fuses Radio Shack Sells them. You can try an electronics store that does soldering and stuff like that. If the fuse has a code on it then you could use that. Also use the or on the list on what it is because that could also work. I hope this helps.

lol i meant difference in the context of a fuse blowing

I did some poking around and apparently the ps14 is replaceable with just standard fast acting 2 amp fuses, so i guess i'll give those a shot

    thanks for all your help

just wanted to let you all know that it was indeed the fuse. i replaced it with a 2 amp, 250 volt fast acting fuse from radio shack, insulated the ends, soldered it in, then insulated the fuse from touching the case. Now it works great. Thanks for all the help.
