I'd just finished installing the magic 3.1 into my v5 PS2. But for some reason, when i turned on the PS2...all it appeared is a black screen and nothing else. I was wondering if someone can tell me what i did wrong that causes the black screen to appear.

Also, there's something that i kept on wondering...can someone please tell me what's the gnd wire are for? I know it stand for ground but what's the whole point of connecting a wire to that spot? And does it matter if i use a 22awg wires for ground and power at all?

Thanks All those for helping me!!!

so did you connect the ground wire or didn't you?
it must be connected inorder for the chip to work ok?
22awg is a better idea for power and ground....helps in teh case of magic 3.1...if you did all that and the screen is still black...check for bios leg bridge ... good luck

Yea i did solder the wire to the GND but it still didn't appear anything except for a black screen. I don't know if this is a problem or not but i was using a 32awg wires to solder the gnd wire.

ya it might...try to get a thicker wire or make your ground as short as possiable...however check the bios connection...see if there are bridges
