Black Screen with Modbo760 SCPH77001
Black Screen with Modbo760 SCPH77001 –

Well I have basically installed the chip 4 times now with no luck. The ps2 slim just does the usual just goes to a black screen. It flickers right when I hit the button to turn on and power on fine but that is about it. When I remove the chip the PStwo runs fine. Perectly I may say but witht he chip nada. It would be very helpful if someone can point me towards what points might affect this. I used 30AWG for normal points and 22AWG for 3.3v and Ground. Nothing seems to be touching. I resolderd like 4 times to see but yeah. Hope you guys can help me out... ^_^

Ok ok, just now i have tryied a 5th time and this time things are different. Now i believe everything is soldered correctly but the only thing is that when I power on. Everything runs fine. IDK if its chipped though Idk if anyhting is supposed to show up after everything is installed. So if there is another way to check if its chipped please tell me! Thanks again.

The most obvious way of testing any modchip is to see if the console can boot a burned backup. And preferably it should be a disc known to be bootable on other modded consoles. We can't direct you to any game disc ISOs of that kind (that would be piracy, which is forbidden on this site), but there are many homebrew ISOs that you can burn to a CD-R or DVD-R disc to see if it boots on your modded console. For complete testing you need to use both disc kinds, as faulty installations often result in just one of them not working, thus you need to test both CD and DVD.
You can find boot disc ISOs (both CD and DVD) for the homebrew application "uLaunchELF" (aka: uLE) in its release post. That is the first post of the main 'sticky' thread in the uLaunchELF subforum inside the Homebrew/Dev forum.
When booted those discs will display the default uLaunchELF menu, with a message at the top left corner of the screen stating that no CNF was found (normal until you save your own CNF in the uLE configuration menu)
Best regards: dlanor
