Black screen –
I have a ps2 v4 pal with black screen. Its funktioning perfectly except for the black screen. It loads the game and you can even see that the signal to the tv is reset when rebooting the ps2.
There is no solder balls/bridges or damaged tracks, and no modchip, it has been removed. I am no lame ass modder and i work with electronics so i know what i do.
The only thing i can find on this forum about this cind of problem is, solder balls/bridges or faulty installation/chip. Well thats not always the problem, some ps2 moddels are very sensetive to these crappy 5v chips.
There are so many with this problem, some one must have a solution ? Charly_ps2 aint you the hardware guy ? Do you have technical documentation on the ps2 ? if so please share, since ther is no straight answer to these problems.
a v3 bord that dosnt eject and has the black screen, but powers up. A shoort in a diode on the 3.3v line to ground.
Hi Leeloo...My v4 pal ps2 is suffering the same black screen problem as you, I was wondering if you have fix the problem yet? if yes, please tell me how you fix the problem? The modchip im using is the DMS3 Ver 2.0!
I got the same problem with my V4 PS2, black screen. I found a bridge on the CD/DVD controller chip. I removed it, still got the Black screen, but now the eject light is gone! turns out I lifted too much solder from some of the CD/DVD controller chip legs and cause them to lost connection. I have no idea how to add solder underneath the legs to solder them back on
other causes of Black screen
Bridged/Damaged BIOS chip, BA chip, or CD/DVD controller chip
Not all the wires are solder to the above chips properly
