    I have a bizzare problem with a V7 Messiah 2 Pro v1.30 installation.

When i put it back together after chipping it worked fine first time.

but when i reset the console or put in another dvd-r disc to try (defo working dvd-r) and hit reset, the screen is just black, you dont get the electrons, but, the disc spins up and makes all the right noises for a perfect boot, it is actually booting up the game, you just cant see or hear anything (i know this cause you get to know the sound it makes when it is booting correctly).

I have taken it apart to check for bridges e.t.c. and chip is installed perfectly. BUT you get one boot every time you put it back together again and then nothing after 1st reset or change of disc. FUSES are not blown as i have checked them all and this continues to happen!

    Has anyone experienced this before?????

    please help

Check for pinched wires. The metal case might be pinching some wires. And for God's sake man, use hot glue to keep the wires away from screw holes and make sure they are not pinched by the metal case!
The Yellow PS2 auto-boots all. PS2, PS1 stealth and DVD movies.

what exactly do you mean by pinched wires????

there is no way that any wires could be under tension so much that they could cause the end points of the wires on the chip to short. i only remove the smallest of lacker right at the ends of the wires and there is quite a bit of slack between the ends.

Do you mean that the insulating coating on a wire has be broken and therefore touching the case un-insulated under pressure and causing a short.

I have re-checked the wires and laid them all flat in space and glued them down. I just got three resets before the screen went black again! turning the console of and unplugging it does not get it working again. You have to leave it for 10-15 mins before it will work again.

    This is mad

has anyone encountered such a problem before?

Can someone give me some constructive advice on my predicament? My PS2 is still behaving in this bizzare way. This is a crazy problem. Has anybody ever had anythig similar happen to them? Why does it work and then stop working (black screen after one two or three resets of the console. Then turn off and wait 15 mins and it will work again until one two or three resets!

Maybe it's overheating. is the fan working? is the heatsink properly on the BA58? Are all the screws tight so that heat sinks make contact with the EE chip?

I had considered overheating as i did have something similar happen when i run a ps2 a while back with damaged fan!

The fan works fine. On the subject of heatsink i am not sure!

but the thing is, if it was an overheating problem why would it just not work on reboot???

I just played winning eleven 6 jap import for 20 mins with no probs. I hit the reset button and console is dead!?!?

i have left it for 20 mins now and if i go and try again im sure it will work straight away. If it was heating problem why would it only stop working on reboot?

Its def not dodgy connection because behaviour is now very predictable and consistent. This is a head f*Ck

    keep the suggestions coming

    thanks

sounds like bios wiring problem or leg lifted from bios chip and board.

Why would the ps2 work perfectly in the way i have described and then not work after a reset if it had a bios mis-install. Can you clarify your reasoning for you believing this to be the problem.

    thanks

When the unit is cool the leg could make contact with the board and use the information in the bios then once it has warmed a bit and the leg lifts this not allowing the bios to conduct its business.

Now im no whizz with programming and shit but does the bios still get used once the console has booted?

    Its just a theory....
